310 words.

The stranger spoke and called him brother. All the while, the coyote spoke and remained afloat in the clear, crisp water. Cuomo found this strange, but not uninviting as he observed the smaller canine existing in a state that seemed to be completely at ease. He felt a sense of wonder at the other male’s serenity. Although he could not argue that these surroundings would support such a state of mental relaxation. Only a few moments before he had been admiring the beauty of his surroundings, but it seemed as though this coyote could marvel at the beauty of inner things, or perhaps the way the inner workings of his mind melded with his external environment.

The dark colored brute addressed the floating coyote with interest. He had met very many creatures in his travels, but he did not think that he had ever encountered anyone like this coyote before. ”I have never had anyone call me brother,” Cuomo mused a loud. Although he had loved his sisters very much, they had treated him more like a companion than family.

The stranger surged from the water, all the while keeping the color of his irises a mystery from the dark furred brute. Cuomo regarded him without suspicion. Despite his out of tune actions, he did not seem to be a fellow with harmful intentions. On the contrary, he seemed to be one of the most peculiarly genuine creatures Cuomo had encountered within the span of the last few weeks. The orange eyed wolf rested on his haunches, his tail staying still behind him as he contemplated this current stage in his life. Normally he did not feel so introspective, but something about being in this peculiar coyote’s presence made it seem appropriate to look inward. ”What is your name?” the Dahlian male asked curiously. There was so much about this coyote that was strange yet inviting.
