Citlali can join if Fae would like! Bringing Miqui to Anathema. Pardon the ugly translations.

Her offer hadn't gone over well at first glimpse. Why wouldn't she come with him? What was so damn special about the pack in the mountains that the coyotes couldn't offer? Miqui remembered his younger sister's words. Something about new family. Bah. New family? What about her real family?! The thought that one of his petite, golden siblings was so swayed by a group she had only recently found boiled his blood. Muscles tensed beneath dark fur, one arm pulling away from his body to slam a large, clenched hand into the half-solid trunk of a splintered tree. After so many months with her, making sure nothing happened to Tlantli like it had happened to Xochime, and this was his payment. Abandoned with a brother whom he didn't worry for and who didn't need him.

As time progressed, however, his thoughts had changed. She'd made it clear in that hideous forest. She needed him. Sure, it hadn't been said in so many words, but it was obvious. Why else would she have mentioned the space in the den of her and his nephew? It was meant to extend an offer of home, and a chance to be rejoined with the sister he had lost in the snowstorm. He hadn't really settled down inside of the skull-decorated clan that resembled his undesired home. Getting up and moving once more wouldn't be difficult; the initial anxiety would be lessened even more by the presence of his littermate.

Cogs clicked together in the irate mind of the eldest Kimaris boy. Imacai could live on his own; if he took more thought to it, Tlantli could as well, but he didn't want to give her the chance to be harmed. The debate was settled so easily. He'd go to Anathema.

Tlantli Kimaris

The athletic Kimaris was left in anxiety during the evenings. Weeks had gone by without news from Miqui; had her offer only served to anger the elder man more? That hadn't been the purpose. When she had told her brother about the space within the home she shared with their nephew, it had been a quiet way to say "I want you there". Much the same way as the darker boy was, his younger sister did not appreciate the use of frivolous words in order to cement a relationship. Miqui was a protector, a simple fact that she could appreciate and repay without touching down on the phrase 'Te amo'. In truth, she didn't need him. She was capable of tending to her own safety. It was courtesy that caused her to give him some moments of strength.

It didn't mean she didn't need him. Fiery eyes scoured the walls of their small home, a sense of sadness welling up behind the irises. Where was Miqui? Everything seemed to be wrong. He hadn't chosen her over whatever group he'd holed himself up with. Oh, she knew Imacai was there, but Imacai had always been more independent. What about his sister?

Hours passed, golden fur pacing back and forth across the earthen floor, before it finally came into fruition. The distant call that reached her ears was familiar, a deep voice borne to a warrior. She didn't pause to tell her ward what was happening. Out the entrance she shot, breaking into a sprint as she ascended the passageway that lead to the surface. She hadn't alienated him in her casual mention of the new family. A flutter in her heart reminded her that reality was upon her. Unwilling to take a break, she made her way to the western borders of the land.

There he stood. Apparently the journey hadn't been kind on him; his already dark fur was clearly mottled with mud, and his ponytail had fallen out. Long locks of brown spilled over broad shoulders and obscured eyes of a similar color to her own. It seemed strange.

"Yo había empezado a pensar que estás enojado conmigo, Miqui."

Reaching the invisible border brought more relief than the decision had. His journey from one side of the land to another had left him tired and annoyed; it wasn't much of a change, but it was fueled by ignorant things. The land was wet. His fur was cold. A tree had stolen the wrap that held his ponytail in place. At the time, he hadn't cared, but he hated to have hair in his face. He supposed that, once his destination was reached, he could implore fiery Tlantli to fix it; she always had in the past.

A call was uttered from wolfish features. He glared across the border. His sister better show herself, instead of someone else. She was the one who had wanted him so badly to come to Anathema. The wait took longer than he'd wanted to, but finally a shape was seen in the faint shadows. Familiar movements, gentle curves, cropped mane; it was a body he was not unused to seeing. The golden, fae-like thing known as Tlantli Kimaris.

She stayed her distance, and he refused to pass the line that separated them without an invitation. Instead, she commented on his mood. Of course he'd been angry at her. She'd been a fool, but now was not the time to point out her stupidity. Instead, he muttered a gruff response. "Mi cola de caballo se soltó."

Tlantli Kimaris

The silence was unpleasant as she waited for response, and what came from his mouth was not what she had expected. All he could say, after their argument and her worries, was concern for his hair. At first, she gazed at him in disbelief. The stunned expression remained until laughter broke free from her golden maw. "¡Oh, pobrecito." More steps were taken to close the distance between the two, one of her woven bracelets slipping from a thin wrist with ease. It wasn't hard to fix Miqui's hair, as she'd done it before, but she didn't want to waste more time than she needed. Tucking the strands away in the circle and tying it closed, she tugged him gently into her new home.

"Viven en cuevas aquí; es realmente magnífico. Creo que le va a gustar." Her explanation did not do the cave system justice, but the sight alone would, she was sure of that. Without complaint, her brother followed; his steps could be heard heavier than her own on the rocky entrance to the homes. Briefly, she turned to see his expression. It was only vague bewilderment.

Taking him to the small family den in silence, Tlantli relinquished hold of his hand as they entered, cleaning quickly before glancing at the man. "Se puede dormir en mi cama por ahora, si quieres." It wasn't strange to the younger female; they had two rooms, and she would rather have Miqui's warmth at her side than in some distance place. He grunted and passed her, presumably to search the rest of the den. Tlantli watched quietly; soon, she would have to take him to Naniko, as she didn't believe she could hide a growing man in her home for too long.
