There was no excuse for him to not have been as active as he should have been. Unless mourning should count. He had been spending time away on his own once he had learned of his mother's demise. Here he had thought that she was happy and well only to find out this troubling fact. So he had taken the time to make proper preparations for the body and removing it. And after that he had just been keeping to himself. But he was over that period in his life now and returned to the caves once more. He still had his own life to live and couldn't forget that.
He yawned and blinked some as he left the bright light of the day to enter the darkness of the caves. It was a familiar setting for him. From the cult in New Brunswick to his time spent in another pack. He had always lived in a cave. Sure, he was still learning this system and committing to memory but he wasn't disadvantaged. No, he was used to twists and turns and entrapments. It was just a part of cave life.
He walked down the passages, not really in a hurry to return to his own den. Instead he was exploring to figure out just how many were residing int his system. He had yet to meet them all though the ones he did meet had left a memorable impression with him. And well, maybe he was trying to figure out just where a certain lady stayed. Sure, there was one that he shared a cave with but as far as he knew they were nothing more than friends. She had come to him when she could no longer stand her home and he had taken her in. But there was nothing official between them.
