It was completely deserted, as it had stood since over a year prior. And yet the building still held memories for the boy and somehow he could let the real world begin to dissolve so that memories would take over. The smell of cooking meat wafted into the air and Silas could easily make out the sound of his father’s voice, accented by the strong Russian flare he shared. Liliya was easy to see, her features perpetually frowning because of the strange place they had decided to sail to. He would come to watch that frown evolve into something else over time, and eventually it would disappear all together. A hand reached out, tan fingers sweeping across the wooden bench where they had sat upon arrival. How he missed his family so, and wondered whether or not they had returned to Arkhangel'sk safely. It hurt him to think they were so far out of reach, but the boy only had to remind himself that Halo was worth it all. And she was, wasn’t she?

He avoided the motel room which he knew housed that human corpse, and moved down to the room he had once shared with his family. It wasn’t much different then how they had left it, though it was clear that it had been abandoned for quite some time. The young Russo male moved to the bed and sat on its edge, icy gaze falling to the floor in disbelief. How had his life turned into this? It wasn’t that he was necessarily distraught by it, but he would have never guessed that he would have been left alone in Nova Scotia while his family returned to their roots. Of course, Anatoliy was still here, but Silas had long since touched base with him. They had been united in childhood, but he easily grown apart in their separate worlds.

Inferni was really the only thing that Silas had left, and he had begun to realize it. Though somewhat sad and sobering, it motivated the male. If it was all he had left, then perhaps he should learn to honor it. It was why the boy was so set on learning to be a warrior; not only so he could impress Halo, but so he could protect and serve the clan that had become his family.
