At first, Matteo was terrified. He was sure he'd done wrong by forcing himself onto Alaki like that. Just like Giuseppe, he was sure the male would beat him to a pulp for being so stupid and pushy. It wasn't until he felt the other relax and arms coming around him that he realized he wasn't in trouble this time. He felt his fear wash away and in that moment, he just let go. He hated crying; it made him feel weak and helpless, like a puppy again.
He was just about ready to wipe away his own tears when Alaki started rubbing his back, wiping the tears away and whispering comforting words to him. Matteo wasn't used to this treatment, but somehow he eased into it naturally, his tears going away and that tired feeling washing over him again.
When Alaki promised him safety, then went on to speak in that other language, Teo closed his eyes and relaxed, shifting to allow room for comfort. It took him quite a while to find his voice again and when he spoke, it came out tired, quiet and cracked. It would also be the last thing spoken by the lad, who was quickly falling asleep again.
