You can't survive on just crabapples

The Russian busied himself with loosening and tightening his left bracer straps as the woman hesitated slightly. Although he pretended not to notice, the man noted her lack of explanation until he suggested the role messenger. Drizzt was beginning to wonder if she was attempting to hide something from him. But her response sounded reasonable enough to him, so he allowed it to slide. He straightened his posture and stared at his associates eyes, searching them for a sign of deception.

By nature, he was a trusting wolf, which was how the hunters had found him in his haven back in Europe. Here, he would have to be more careful though, especially around wolves who acted as this one did. Though she seemed too relaxed to be an agent of his family, her skittish attitude kept him wary.

Drizzt cleared his throat and nodded his head slightly. "Is there anything else I should know, concerning our agreement?" He asked easily. He wasn't completely trusting of the woman, but he had agreed to do her a favor. And the Russian was a man of his word, regardless of inhibitions. "Such as what to expect in terms of opposition?"
