This is by far not my best post at all >_>

The steady sound of Hanna's voice kept Ralla breathing as she should, otherwise she would've let herself breathe as erratically as her body wished. She had not anticipated the pain that came with the pre-birth of the pups, nor had she anticipated it coming in waves. She could only be glad for Hanna's and Mizu's presence, as the other wolf burst into the room, followed by Nootau, who used the less conspicuous window and took his perch out of the way on the shelf.

With Hanna's help she was laid on the birthing bed, which was little more than a collection of tattered cloth and pillows, which would easily be disposed of or washed after the messy business. Ralla could feel the kicking inside of her--of multiple bodies squirming around--and it unnerved her and made her nervous, even as the pain came still. A small yipe almost escaped her muzzle, turning into a gasp as she held it back while clenching hard on her teeth. Breathe in, breathe out, breathe in, breathe out. Where was Kemo? Out somewhere? One hand reached for Hanna's to grip it hard, the other bunching up into the cloth; it was happening then, and if someone had told her that they couldn't come out right at that moment, she would've uncharacteristically said "I don't think you get to decide that!".

Moon walks. "Moon talks." Moon thinks.
