The change was quick, too quick for Krystalle to get away before she heard the accented voice she had first fallen in love with. She wasn't sure what to do. She didn't want to talk to Bartholomew, or Mars, or anyone else who was hiding in the back of the Russo's skull. She simply wanted to be alone. But Bartholomew would have none of that. The first thing he did was ask questions. Krystalle had forgotten that Bartholomew hadn't surfaced since before the move, and frowned while he asked about the place they were staying. His words on the state of the den caused the woman to turn. "He did the best he could, Barty, so shut up!" The exclamation was strange; she'd never really defended Mars from himself before, and it didn't take long for her to realize what she'd done.

She huffed. Allowing her mind to turn away from her outburst, she watched Bartholomew put her things in an easily accessible place; it didn't take long before they were in her arms, hugged tightly against her chest as he went to get their mounts. She didn't follow at first, instead letting her thoughts roam. They were going to be in their own home. They were going to be stuck as a family, and there she was, yelling at him for being mean to...himself. It was ridiculous. "Ai, dios mio." The whisper disappeared into the air as she followed her strange partner out into the open. With some difficulty, she mounted Senorita; the mare sniggered under the extra weight that she had only just started to get used to. Her friend sympathized.
