The early morning sun crept through his window and the Delta male shuddered. He should have been used to Siku's small body curled against his in the morning, despite almost never falling asleep with her there. The year-olds didnt understand the magnetic pull that meant he woke each morning with at least one arm thrown over his best friend, his muzzle stuck in the crook between her neck and shoulder. They didnt understand it and they didnt enitrely want to know what was going on. But his muscled body stretched easily and quietly beside her. She stirred but didnt wake as per usual and Saul grinned softly. Covering her with the blankets he moved down to the only other level in the cabin. He stuck his head around Wretch's door to make sure the little female was okay and sleeping. When he was sure the females of his household were okay he moved out the back door to bathe in the stream. Shifting easily down to his lupus form, which he preferred to use when his morning run was concerned. Dripping wet and fresh eyed, Saul Stormbringer moved south towards the forest.
The burn was much harder to come by now. Since his arrival over six months ago, Saul had started each and every day with an envigorating run around Dahlia. Today was no different. He headed out towards the forest he'd hunted with Alae, remembering their team work with a small smile. He almost missed the howl as a fierce wind picked up. But he was more alert than that, cinnamon backed ears flashing forward to catch the vibrations in the air immediately. And the howl was no where near that of a fully grown adult. His large form came out on top of the cliff, wind whipping his fur close to his body. Green eyes searched the forest below him, the trees making it impossible to find the pup responsible.
Once he'd reached the forest floor however, it was much easier to locate her. Thrown upon the ground, starving, thin and clearly exhausted. He stopped, thinking about shifting into his optime form to pick her up. But she was just a little thing and he didnt want to scare her. He stopped and sat just a few feet away from her. "Wake up, little one. You're safe."
