He could see confusion in the little girls golden eyes at first, but he could also see an intelligent brain trying to figure out what was being said. He waited, tail thumping the ground softly. She was a cute pup and he was sure she would turn into a beautiful female. She just needed a chance to live, to grow. And Dahlia could give her that. They would work past the language barrier, teach her english. Saul would do it- he liked pups. They just needed to establish some trust between them. Of course, when she answered with her name, still heavily accented, Saul allowed a grin to stretch his lips wide. She was intelligent enough to work out what he'd said and given a response in English. He nodded softly, pushing his head forward once more.
"Verloren... Its nice to meet you."
He murmered softly before he froze. She had taken his sniff at her fur, bounding towards him. He didnt have timed to respond as delicate puppy paws gripped his face. Her snuffling nose searched over his face, all around his ears and eyes. She was awefully cute. Of course, Saul didnt miss the pause towards his mouth. He'd eaten a rabbit recently and he was sure the little female could smell the blood still on his breath. She was hungry. She must be starving. At that moment, as he was about to ask her, her gold eyes widened and she backed off. He smiled softly, paw reaching over to rest delicately on her head.
"Are you hungry, little one?"
He asked softly, tail wagging softly behind him once more. He would be able to hunt for her soon, he just needed to know that she needed a home. The predawn sun had broken through the trees now, weak and pale. But it was there none the less and he would be able to hunt for the pup soon enough.
