Her brow wrinkled slightly as he repeated her name, still a bit unused to the different accent of the English. Thinking for a moment she then (if a bit roughly) translated, “It means lost.” She then thought back to what Panzer—her deceased friend—had taught her. He’d been more fluent in English and during their voyage had taught her a few phrases, especially about her name.
“You can just call me Lost,” she repeated the phrase, this time the words coming out much smoother, although still lingering with a bit of her German accent.
After having sat back her little ears perked when he placed his paw atop her head, showing he hadn’t taken any offense to her sniffing. Her tail resumed its wagging at this and an innocent smile creased her lips. It was the first time she had grinned in a long while and it felt reviving. She scooted forward a bit, keeping her head balanced beneath his soft placed paw. Comparatively, her paws were the same size if not a tad bigger than his due to her large breed, though still too big for her young body. It was clear she’d grow to be a rather large, yet equally feminine built lupine.
Her grin soon widened when he spoke again, easily picking out one word she had learned well. She eagerly stood up, slipping his paw from her head, and danced around in front of him. Along with her enthusiastic twirling and bouncing she yipped and whimpered as she expressed her answer, a clear ‘yes!’ In fact in her little vocalizations a repeated, “Ja, ja, ja!” could be heard. Which, as they echoed beneath the yips and whimpers, sounded much like “Yeah, yeah, yeah!”
