Profile or writing examples: 1.The plump new leaves of spring brushed against her pelt, droplets of water making her fur matte. The soil squishing between her toes with each step. The forest seemed tranquil, but the heavy fog seeping down from the mountains gave her an uneasy feeling in her stomach. Adal glanced down, at the swelling creek beating against the rocks. She ducked carefully beneath a deformed gray tree. The bark was peeling, and it seemed out of place in the lush spring world. She turned her eyes up once again toward the fog blanketed mountains. Her fur stood on end, as she noticed dark figures moving through the fog, down the steep, rocky hills towards her. The limped slowly, in some horrifying demented way, claws scraping over stone. She wanted to turn, to run, but she felt as if she was sinking into the ground, the wet soil sucking her down, the roots of the dead tree wrapping themselves around her ankles, preventing her from moving. The creatures from the dusky cloud were crawling closer and closer...and then..nothing. Silence but for the chirping of the birds, and the soft drizzle of rain. But the old tree was still there, ominously looming over her with skeletal branches, reaching out, clawing at her flesh.. She turned and ran, not once glancing back.
2. The musk of elk hung heavy in the air around him, and his tounge hung from his mouth so he could taste the scent. His ears were pricked, and his fur stood on end, as he crouched with each muscle quivering. He flung himself forward, dry soil and small petals flying from where his paws had been just a second before. He burst through the undergrowth, thorns tugging at his matted fur. He leapt after the elk, paws barely brushing the ground, as he sunk his teeth into its hind leg. Juna could feel the fever of the kill descend upon him, blanketing his senses in a red fog, as he snapped violently with his jaws. But the elks flesh tore away from his teeth, as the terrified creature bounded away, startling it whole herd. He was left, panting and hungry, with only a few bits of meat to show for his effort.
3. “Ocea!” The snow that clung to every available surface muffled the voice. Looking up, the young pup could barely see her mother, who’s white fur made her seem like just another ornament in this snow draped land.
“Hurry up or I’ll lose you out here!” Her mothers soft, chiming voice was surreal. It seemed to echo around her, filling every inch of the space, but at the same time was nearly silent.
“Mother I want to go home!” The pup cried. Her mother’s followings sigh was inaudible. She padded slowly toward her tiny pup, and stood, looking down. “We can’t go home. Ever.”
“Why not?” she asked, not understanding.
Her mother shook her head. There was no way to explain the recent horrors she had endured to the innocent pup.
“We’re going somewhere so much better than home darling.” She attempted, nuzzling Ocea forward.
