She would get her way when it came to burying their dead, but the one win did not serve to ease the dull ache within her chest. The fact that she was truly sad about such a miniscule loss left her confused; hadn't she not cared weeks before? Why did she suddenly feel as if the world had stilled over one dead child? Because children didn't die, of course; that was always how it'd seemed in the past, in Nakzhi. She frowned as Mars looked over the surviving ones, listless and silent as her mind tried to comprehend the strange addition to her already strange life. Names were settled on easily. Paz was the girl, named for a cousin of some sort whom she'd know only briefly. The boy would be Amon. And their names would include the name of their father. As he looked into her eyes, asking if it would be okay, she felt something break inside of her skull. Amon Russo and Paz Russo.
"No, they're gonna be Russos. This is your mess, you gotta deal with havin' 'em there. They're your kids." She spoke with fire and venom and outrage and distress all rolled up in a stinging bite of words that flowed from her mouth with ease. It wasn't fair to Mars, of course, as he'd done nothing truly wrong in while she'd been pregnant. He'd been supportive, kind even. Her stress, however, did not care; it swelled and crashed upon the mind of the usually happy Horzana, leaving her unwilling to continue conversing. Her weight shifted and she fell to the side lackadaisically, allowing her eyes to close while one hand reached to gently touch the foreheads of the two blind pups. They whined, of course, and wiggled slightly in an attempt to find the heat that their mother gave off. She didn't help them.
