Hello Big Grin

He was surprised at how much of a struggle the creature had been putting up. Gideon had fished in this area before and had caught a similar animal, one of those "sharks" that Layla had taught him about...but that one seemed tiny in comparison to what was chomping on his line now. Back then, the shark had gotten the better of him. It'd bitten his hand when he had tried to take it off the hook and had nearly broken one of his fingers. This time he would be the victorious one!

The experienced fisher had a lot of strength to use when it came to pulling fish out of the water. His body size helped with the issue of the shark's weight. Gideon wound up the line whenever it momentarily slacked, turquoise eyes focused on the water below. It wouldn't be long until he would see it, he knew...he had been fighting with the beast for around an hour. One large pull and he saw its massive snout break the surface, and he hurried to yank upward, backing up. He needed to get to lower ground.

The male moved toward the lower beach area, tugging the shark up onto the shore. It was at least six feet long, a pale gray in coloration, mouth gaping to expose rows of sharp teeth. He wouldn't put his hand near that mouth this time until he knew for certain that it was dead. A few strikes on the head with a large rock and the thing was un-moving. He gave it a good kick to be certain of its state before reaching for the hook and yanking it out of the animal's mouth. He then pulled a rope from his backpack, reaching his arm into the shark's mouth and stringing it through its gills on either side so he could lift it.

Gideon grinned triumphantly and pulled the ropes over his shoulders, carrying the shark on his back as he stood upright. He started to walk, unhealthy gait struggling a little beneath the weight of the shark before finding a more fluid motion. His scarred body still held the damage of his experience with the Anathema pack, where he had been medically tortured and experimented upon, and bringing the shark back alone would be quite the task.

He began the long trek back to the house. He planned on making some sort of soup out of the creature; he had developed a liking for the taste of shark meat after the last one he had brought in and wanted to introduce the pups to the taste. Maybe they would like it too. He was passing by the vineyards when he spotted another luperci, one that he hadn't had the chance to officially meet yet. Had she been at the meeting that Nayru had held? Gideon had hung back and hadn't spoken at all during that meeting...there was a good chance that she wouldn't know who he was.

"Hello" He called across the brush, walking toward the vineyards. What was she doing out here? Clearing away dead plants? Gideon didn't know very much about keeping a garden, much less a vineyard...but he wanted to do good by Nayru as well and help her with whatever project she wanted the pack to work on. "How are the...uh...plants?"
