BURNING MY DREAMS

Whenever he thought of his puppies his mind always traveled to Janos first. He was different from all the others. He was perfect, though unfortunately not irreplaceable. He made sure that the other knew that as well. It was a tactic that he used to keep the other male in line. Not that Janos had ever really acted up. It was more a warning for the future, for if he ever started to slip. After all Bastion had to look after himself first. He knew his weaknesses. He knew just what he could and couldn't do. He used Janos to make up for the things that he wasn't able to do himself. He needed the other and he would admit to it. Or well, he needed a puppy. After all it didn't have to be Janos per say, just someone that could do that he couldn't accomplish and wasn't so well at.

A smile lit up his face as Janos took his hand. He didn't doubt that it would happen though. After all his small and child like gestures had never gone ignored. Such as whenever he lifted his arms up the larger male always picked him up and typically carried little Bastion on his back so that his hands remained free to draw his weapon if need be. So often Bastion had relied on silent and unspoken messages to get what it was that he wanted across. Though it wasn't like that silent communication was all too complicated anyways. It remained just like him, child like in many ways.

The small male nodded his head as he listened to the words. He walked easily at Janos's side. He trusted that the other knew just what he was doing. After all the older male had proven himself time and time again. Because of that Bastion gave Janos some leeway as long as he always fell into place. There were only a few basic guidelines that had been put into place for whenever the older canine was away from him and he expected them to be followed. And if they weren't then well, he would just need a new puppy. If it was thought about he wasn't an entirely cruel master. Sure, he had some hurtful means in order to gain himself a puppy but he cared for them after they were in place. He didn't beat and abuse his puppies should they act up. Instead he just forgot about them and worked on getting himself a new puppy. Though he couldn't say that he had never harmed Janos before. After all some of those scars were from him, typically at Janos's request when he would want the small male to make him even more beautiful since Bastion praised the other's scarring and told him that the more he had the more beautiful he was.

Bastion yawned a bit and rubbed at his eye with his free hand as he followed Janos into the house. His head turned up to stare at the other male when the request was made. The youth gave another nod of his head before responding. "Okay." He gave the other a little smile and released his hand. It would made it easier to check out the house if they split up anyways. He allowed the other to go wherever it was tat he wanted to go while the wolf boy glanced around at what he could see from where he was at. Of course he wasn't about to stand in a single place. Oh no, he was much to curious to do that. So he turned away from Janos and wherever he would decide to go to check out the room that he was in.

The youth moved other to a small table with a drawer and pulled it open to look into it. He wasn't so well versed in human artifacts to know what everything was but he knew about containers and how they opened at least. He had seen others in the port town that he had from use storage things. Unfortunately time, and most likely water that had dripped in somehow, had warped the wood and made it difficult to open the drawer. He whined as he tugged on the rusted metal handle and it simply wouldn't budge for him. The small male whined louder in order to just attract Janos's attention to let him know that he needed help. Perhaps he could have called out for the other instead but he chose not to. Instead he stuck to simple sounds so that the other would know exactly what to expect when he came back. After all, he tended to only call the other's name, at least while they were separated while exploring, if there was something that he wanted the other to come and see. It was more simple communication techniques that made it easier to get across just what was needed and desired.
