Axelle had spent her whole day around the beach area. She had been on this beach earlier while it was still sunny. She had watched the sunset, and then retreated to explore somewhere else when it fell dark and silent. She grew particularly fond of this beach. She visited here many times, and she was getting used to it.
She walked along the shallow waves, letting them crash calmly over her paws as she walked. She didn’t bother to look around her. There hadn’t been anyone here all day; why would there be anyone now? She hadn’t noticed another’s scent in the air, either. The other’s scent was masked by the smell of salt water, which she enjoyed a lot more than other wolves’ smells. Some wolves didn’t know what ‘hygiene’ meant, and others actually smelled good half the time. She needed to find a good smelling wolf, someday.
She neared the other with a lazy pace, and when she looked up from some distance away, she stopped walking. The waves continued to crash over her, now steady, feet. It was Mysterious, and somehow she always managed to find him when he was angry. She debated on whether she should continue her walk, or go back. It probably was too late now; he would look up from his thought in the matter of seconds and probably take it out on her. She sidestepped, but then figured it was pointless, and then continued to walk slowly passed him. In front of him, rather, through the shallow crashing waves. She looked at him, and smiled, but then continued to walk. She didn’t want him to think she was in his business yet again, so she didn’t say anything to him.
She carefully picked up her walking pace, and continued down the beach. She wasn’t walking fast, but she wasn’t walking at the turtle pace she just was walking at. She picked her head up as soon as she passed him, and waited for him to say something. She knew he was in the kind of mood she first met him in, and she knew he had to say something to her.
