NOTHING BUT FLOWERS

They were leaving today. The white and black leader had come the night before to tell them that the morn would find Dahlia de Mai officically over. They were to meet the carefree Phoenix leader at the crooked tree, halfway between the packs. And Saul had spent the night with his family- a send off to Dahlia. Food and wine provided by Siku were aplenty and the male had had a pleasent evening with Gideon and his children, Siku and Wretch. Nayru had been travelling back and forth to the new lands with the grape vines, a careful cargo that had required many trips for the black and white fairy and the grey behemoth. Sauln hadnt know what to do at first, what to take and what to leave behind. He'd managed to pick out most of his herbs and liquids that would take too long for him to make in the new lands, and had left most of the stuff that was within easy reach where they were going. And the small amount of personal possessions he had were at the bottom of his bag- the tiny golden harp he'd found on the beaches so long ago, the long red cape it had been hiding in. Small wood carvings that he'd started his craft on and the family dagger that Gideon had given him on their nine month mark. Small possessions but special none the less. And then Wretch, who had no possessions what so ever, and Siku who had the clothes she was wearing and a few small possessions, had left the cabin he'd worked so hard on. It would stand there for many, many years to come. Someone might come along one day and live in it. But the Stormbringer male would no longer live there and it made his heart ache to leave it.

Gideon's presence was a strength to the agouti male as the travelling Dahlians had made their way to the crooked tree halfway between the two territories. It didnt take long for Razekial to come into veiw, the sullen faces of the valley members trailing behind him. He could understand why they were a little apprehensive- they had to travel all this way without knowing half their party, strangers in a large group travelling across the lands. But they would soon know each other and the male was happy to stay with his family. They moved out mid morning and there was a certain pause about the progression that said this was their last chance to say goodbye to the homes that were no more. Saul kept his family close to that of his brothers, walking beside the dark hued brother that was his only blood family left. His family, including Wretch and Siku and Melee and Nayru and Saluce, they were all here. Green eyes switched constanly back and forward between Dahlians and his family, making sure they were okay. Occasionally his eyes wandered over the forms of the Valley men and woman, a blur of light colours for the most of it. But he was keeping an eye on them all the same.

It was obvious however that his dark haired brother only had eyes for the black and white female leading the group. Saul knew there had always been something going on between the two and although at first it had been an innocent friendship, the longing and protectiveness in his brothers eyes was clearly saying there was something more going on with the two of them. Saul wouldnt judge, but it was clear that something was going on that made Gideon unhappy. He would never call his brother jealous, but the protectiveness was bordering on the green emotion. And Saul occupied his time between looking at his brother looking at Nayru, checking the rest of his own pack to make sure they were okay and occasionally looking at his future family that were complete strangers to him. Saul often picked Wretch up to carry her for an hour before putting her back down again- although her back leg had completely healed by now, the huge journey to their new packlands was really going to tire the female out, as well as put strain on her leg. He checked often on Siku too, occasionally offering her a ride on his back so she didnt have to walk so much. She never took him up on it, but he didnt expect her too.

And just like that, the time had slipped away. They'd crested the mountains and there was Ichika. The first to speak was his new leader Razekial, followed by his old leader Nayru. They were both equal in power here, but Saul knew he was more likely to seek his Dahlian leader out if he needed help than he was the Valleyman. Still, he would get over it eventually. Nayru spoke up next, announcing that they would camp here tonight and that if someone could get a fire going that would be helpful. He unfortunately was no good at making fires. Instead he unhooked the sack from his back, stretching long back muscles out. He heard Gideon ask if Melee's foot was okay and smiled softly. The little girl, no longer so little, had hurt her paw and Saul had given her some painkillers back in Dahlia. But the trek had been long and arduous... still he was surprised when she shook her head. She was more hardy than he thought. Smiling he dragged a medium sized fur from his sack, bringing another one out to spread both beside each other. If Melee and Gideon wanted to join him and the two pale females, he was more than welcome to do so. "Home sweet home" He murmered with a soft smile before bringing some water out and allowing Wretch and Siku to drink deeply before taking his own fill. They would soon have to find another place to live.
