OOC: Too long? :/

It had only been a few days since Tawny had been brought into the loving arms of Dahlia de Mai; the pack accepting her as one of their own without any dispute. The peace and healing of her mind and body was disrupted already though, as nearly the entire pack got ready to move and join with another. This wasn’t really a bad thing, because despite the female being scared of so many things, she was so curious! Every little thing she saw was something new to investigate and contemplate; storing all of the information she collected in her sponge-like brain.

Many of the Dahlians were ready to leave their lands on the morning of the move, the small female being woken up by the sounds of their moving. She had taken to sleeping under a rocky overhang near the building that the alpha female lived in, always wanting to study the ways of the older woman. When she saw everyone else gathering, she pulled her rabbit skin satchel over her head and crawled out from under the rocks, going to join the others. Her body was still too thin, only the dull multi colored fur making it hard to see the bones protruding from her flesh. The malnutrition was most obvious when she was touched; the feeling of her ribs and other bones standing out was not pleasing. Tawny had taken to avoiding the touch of others, not wanting to see the disgusted expressions cross their faces.

As they all began to walk, she limped along at the back of the pack, straggling behind a little bit. It was hard to say goodbye to these forests, but she knew that it was necessary to do so. After a while of falling behind, she had to speed up, closing in on the wolves carrying the most possessions and a few on horseback. The huge beasts frightened her, so she stayed away from them usually, unsure of their demeanors. Their large feet looked deadly, and she had seen a mountain goat kick a coyote in the face once, the hooves leaving a huge gash in the canine’s head. Tawny was not fond of being hurt, and her leg was already acting up like it had the month before. There was no sense in allowing one of the horses to accidently step on her, or kick her because they were not happy about something.

After a long while of walking, she began to smell other wolves, and eventually saw a large group waiting for them at the end of a small crest. They must be the Phoenix Valley pack, the ones that the Dahlians were joining with. It was so obvious that half of both packs were not pleased with this moving idea; most of them were tense and nervous looking. A few growls sounded through the air, but it was all cut off by the speaking of the two respective alphas. The male seemed a little bit off, his speech was kind of slurred and his body language was a lot more relaxed that Tawny was used to seeing. Nayru was soft spoken and addressed her pack like the family that they were, encouraging them all to get a move on and to keep up good spirits. At least, that’s how Tawny saw and heard it.

Hours and hours of walking, sometimes falling behind and sometimes catching up to walk in the middle of the large group. All of the wolves, from both packs, had merged together, walking near each other, not really caring because of the exhaustion that swept over them all. When the leaders began speaking again and both groups came to a simultaneous stop, she knew that they had reached their new home.
