Magnolia still wasn’t sure if she should have come to this land. She missed her father, even Amaranth, and she missed the few friends she had left in Dahlia. Magnolia was nobody here; back in the kingdom, she was the daughter of the King’s right hand man. She liked feeling important, and her lack of knowledge about the area and people here kept her up at night. She was still worried of an attack, she was worried of being hurt. Larkspur promised nothing would happen to her, yet she was still anxious.
The girl followed the usual path she took daily; the changing scenery going north from the ruins fascinated the girl. As she walked, the two silver chains on her neck made a slight tinkling noise as they touched in time with her walk. Magnolia had forgotten her veil today, and she felt like she was missing a part of herself because of that. She rarely left home without her lovely accessories. The tattered thing was almost at the end of its life, but she still loved it dearly, holes and all.
The land of thistle was an unforgiving one, but she still saw beautiful in the mangled and hardy plants that survived here. The contrast between the Kingdom’s shoreline and this one was shocking. It was something Magnolia would have to get used to. Magnolia kept walking with no destination in mind when a whiff of someone vaguely familiar crossed Magnolia’s nose. Intrigued, the young woman followed it, her sleek body silent as she moved through the trees and grass. A man she recognized from the dinner appeared before her, partly obscured by the plants. He seemed deep in thought and the woman was about to turn around when she noticed he was making something. She mentally battled with herself about whether she should disturb his peace or not. In the end, the foolish woman went with being social. “What are you making?” Magnolia called from a few meters away, too shy to confront the blonde figure directly.
