Home sweet home

Saluce noticed the change in his company, his blue eyes looked over at her and inwardly he cringed. For all the damn things in the world, a beautiful girl who was about to cry was the worst thing he could imagine. Not because it was a bad thing, but because he couldn’t resist standing, picking them up in his arms and soothing their worries. Call it male bravado or his very real drive to protect and take care of others but he found himself yet again standing and walking the few steps to her.

He bent down as he listened to her words, a hand raised up to push a few strands of hair from her face. Her father sounded like he was a monster but he could tell she had learned this as a surprise. She must have loved him. Saluce stood and motioned for her to join him on the steps. He idly wondered if he was doing all this just so he could get her in bed, and in some region of his brain he recognized the thought, and quickly put it away. Because yes he was, even if he didn’t want to admit it to himself .
