I'll stay in the woods [P]

Sorry about the looooong wait! Pain in the ass writers block and a few issues needed resolving in reality! So so sorry! Sad

Lucia was momentarily alarmed at the noise that escaped her companion. Tilting her head slightly, curiosity shone from her emerald eyes. It didn’t take long for her silent questions to be answered. Giving Soran something that resembled the cold, empty shell of a smile, the coal-furred female spoke. Her voice was softer than before, as though trying to hush away the subject and the faces that haunted her every waking minute.

“You have no reason to apologise. I know very well what Inferni are capable of. I have seen some of their methods first hand.”
She paused, flashbacks flooding her mind momentarily. It took great strength to fight them off, but it seemed easier with someone who understood her nearby. “I passed the old lands on my way here,” Lucia admitted, feeling slightly belittled at the fact her companion had commented on her age. Whether it was pride or blindness, Lucia felt wise beyond her years. She now wondered whether this female thought otherwise.

Watching as Solan enjoyed the bittersweet cigarette, she wondered if she too should indulge once again. However she soon decided against it, not wanting to seem addicted – even if deep down, she knew she was. “I’m assuming by what you have said that your family have some deep wounds? Unresolved issues…? Something of that nature…?” Lucia didn’t mean to pry, but with nothing more than herself and her mind to keep her company, she was curious how families worked. Her mother had been killed by her father, and her father had been killed by Lucia herself. It was all very complicated really. Lucia had nobody anymore, not a soul. Yes, the occasional socialisation of anyone who stumbled across her was nice, but she had always wanted something more… and yet, when she had that something, it had slipped right out of her grasp.

It wasn’t until Soran’s questions caught her ears that Lucia’s posture shifted. She laughed, loudly. “Where am I living now…” she repeated, still chuckling to herself… “Well, my dear… I live here.” She stretched out her arms and pointed to the woods around her. “Welcome to my little slice of paradise… Sarcasm thickly on her tone, she was definitely bitter about something. “The reason I live here…” Her tone shifted, it went cold and angry. His face appeared in her mind again. She wanted to gouge her own eyes out, just for one moment of peace. He had to keep on haunting her, always ruining her day. “Let’s put it this way… I fell in love with a coyote named Snake. I thought he loved me… I was wrong. So I joined Inferni as an outsider… got treated like crap for him… and what does he do…” She paused, spitting on the ground in disgust. It was more so directed at herself, for the fact she was stupid enough to fall for it. “…He gets up and leaves without a word. That’s gratitude for you, huh? …Bloody coyotes!
