This thread is the first of the Borgata Mayate Scouting Party and is for anyone ranked Associate -- all of you guys can join in, if you want. XD Citlali can also attend as Fae is aiming for the Mietitore co-rank. :3 Eris is about 40 days pregs here, so she has Darijus help her swim!

The sable hybrid stared across the strait that separated Salsola's mainland from the island they had staked claim to. She did not expect an invasion over the water, of course -- Inferni had no boats, and it would not seem anyone else in their neighboring packs did, either. Darijus, mute as he always was now, stood at her side, his ever-glum expression painted on his muzzle. His wound had been grievous indeed, but the hybrid had given him alcohol to soothe the pain and sterilize the wound. It had been a bitter and stinging type of liquor, not her taste at all, but with Dari's silencing, she was glad Molca had obtained it from the city. Dari had exhausted the bottle in a night, however, and the sable-hued woman had been forced to send her personal slave to the city again. The frail coyote would be gone a few days, Eris knew, but she would come back. There was no doubt of that within the sable coyote's mind any longer.

Darijus, on the other hand, required a special sort of care. She would never trust the mute wolf outside of Salsola's territory. He would not run -- she had seen to that. The nails on the innermost toe of each foot had been forcibly removed the same night of his silencing. The sable coyote had considered taking a finger, too, but she thought that might devalue Dari somewhat. After all, his value was in physical strength and ability. Now, however, there was no question that if he attempted escape (or even acted against his masters again) he would die. The sable coyote had made certain to make this perfectly clear herself -- in absence of a Signorino co-rank, she would perform these duties gladly for Salsola.

“Shift,” she barked at him, twisting her head toward the brownish male. The ugly scar snaking up his side ripped and twisted along with his body and momentarily, a Lupus-formed Darijus stood before her, looking up at her with that blank indifference. “You will help me swim,” the hybrid said, placing one hand over her belly. The man nodded, and Eris stepped forward into the ocean, the wolf-slave at her side. The waves lapped at her ankles, cold relief against the summer's heat. The tide was low, and the shallow water continued for some distance, gradually sweeping over the hybrid's knees and waist. Soon, Dari paddled beside her, and soon enough after that, Eris wrapped her arm about the wolf's shoulders, clinging to him as she kicked her own legs. Dari's churned the water madly, and his head just barely poked above the water.

It was only a short swim, however, before the hybrid's feet again touched the sandy bottom, and she could again walk. Darijus was released shortly thereafter, and they found themselves on the dry beach, facing the rolling hills and jutting rocks of the isle. The hybrid stretched, her hands on her lower back, belly out, and nodded her approval to Dari, who only stared ahead. The Auxilary looked back to Salsola's shore, and lifted her head to the air, calling for her Associates. There was work to be done here -- Xochime had inspected this place, and found it suitable for a particular purpose, one which Eris had a rather strong interest in.
