Maggie stood at the edge of the water beside the other Associates in a bit of daydream, watching the interaction before her. The slave came for them, she noted with a bit of surprise, and the dog beside her demanded he help him cross. She chuckled then; she couldn’t help but notice his nerves. He clearly didn’t like the water, but there was nothing he could do. Eris needed them and they were required to obey. They had no say in the matter.
Feeling braver than everyone else, Magnolia walked straight into the chilly water. She shivered, looking back at everyone and motioning towards the island for everyone to follow. The water was frigid, but she forced herself to keep walking further into the water. Magnolia had reached the point of no return, and so she started swimming. The water was fairly calm, which the girl was grateful for, and so she doggy-paddled her way across the water. It was easier than the girl expected, but still tiring nonetheless.
The Associate didn’t turn around to look if anyone was following her, she knew they would eventually. Even the timid man would too. It was tiring, and Magnolia almost didn’t make it, but after what felt like an eternity the island finally started coming closer into view. She floated in the water for a moment, watching Eris wait patiently on the shore for her Associates. Sighing, she continued on to meet her Auxiliary on the sand. “Hey,” she said softly, out of breath. The four-legged girl walked a distance away from her leader before shaking out the water from her fur in a frenzy of droplets that went everywhere.
