Small animals were always easiest to coerce into doing what was expected of them but some had proved to be smarter than others and proved to be a challenge when trying to make them into your dutiful little followers. Foxes were cunning little things indeed and would prove to be the hardest to try to make sit down and talk to them much less do anything else like make them help with gathering information or relaying it. That and many small creatures simply had too much of an ability to get easily distracted, something that could prove to be a liability more than ever. After all, if the carrier of your letter all of a sudden disappeared because of some other scent trail or something else that popped up in front of them then that could prove to be a problem. So he hoped that this female would have something that they could do to rectify this issue. He wanted to be able to have everything lined up for him but this was one of those things that he was going to have to figure out what to do. He watched her with his sharp eyes, tilting his head lightly so that he could see her better through his unclouded eye, waiting for an answer. Even some prey animals like rabbits, that could blindly follow orders were huge prey items and so would likely be picked off. It would have to be a creature that was not too smart, not too dumb, and neither too high nor too low on the food chain to be able to interact with them and be able to successfully complete their jobs.

Much time had passed since he had had to think about things like this. Interacting with such things as the carrier pigeons were distinctly forbidden given that if a slave were to get a message out then that could be very bad so he really had no past experiences with things like this. He gave a little sound and nodded his head as the other spoke, wondering how to do it himself. It just seemed to be so difficult and he would need someone to at least help him with it. It was too big of a job like that and if his master decided to help him he wouldn’t be able to keep one of the animals alive long enough to do anything with it. But that was just the way that his cherub was and thinking about him was enough to make his brand prickle and his lips want to curve up into a smile but with the lack of practice with such a motion, his lips stayed in the frown. She then mentioned asking someone else and he gave a little thoughtful sound as if genuinely trying to figure it out but he then shook his head. It wasn’t like he knew about everyone in the pack as of yet and he was still admittedly doing his best to try to keep himself away from everyone who wasn’t someone of dire importance to his continued success within the pride. ”No I don’t. Do you by any chance?” He asked with a little thoughtful sound as his good ear twitched, his tail lightly moving as he thought.
