The day the earth stood still

Rio nodded and quickly bustled out of the door. She went to the corner where she saw the bowls and took one along with a jar filled with water. Then she swiftly, but carefully walked back to the smaller room with a bowl in one hand and the jar of water in the other. She moved passed the others carefully, and kneeled nearby the Acidic brute. She placed the bowl near her mother’s head and poured some water into it. Then she put the jar off to the side, which still had some water in it, and sat back. The pups were beautiful, and no matter who they looked like or whoever else they came from, they were more siblings to get to know. Rio smiled at their cute, wriggling, little bodies, but kept her distance as she noticed the brute beside her seemed very intrigued by them. Could he be the father?

Rio watched everything that was going on around her carefully. She definitely wanted a family of her own one day, but it would probably be someday far into the future. She didn’t think she’d ever be like her mother and be popping them out so frequently. No, she just wanted a family of her own. To call her own, and for it to actually be her own. ”Who’s their father, Momma?” She would never get answers if she never asked questions. Even if the brute beside her was the father, there was no shame in that. Even though, she could already tell that he didn’t care for her being there too much. He didn’t acknowledge her greeting at all, and she could be here or not and he would be indifferent to her presence. It was okay, though. She was here to see her Momma, not him.
