The cleaning of her hands was going to take for damn ever, and she knew it. Sighing softly, the little girl leaned back against Saul's chest and closed her eyes. She relaxed and tried not to make much noise when he began picking out the nasty debris embedded in her palms. The gray male was such a gift to her, taking care of her needs and generally making sure that she knew everything would be alright. No one had ever held her like that before. Granted, she would never let anyone get that close, but she had a feeling that most others wouldn't have known what to do. Even if Saul had been clueless, the fact that he had attempted to make her feel better had done the job. Hearing him speak out loud that he loved her back in the same was made her heart feel light and suddenly it was easier to breath. Just knowing that someone in the world loved her and was willing to make time to be with her lifted her spirits.

While the cleaning was painful, Tawny was no stranger to pain and she got over it quickly. Her eyes slid closed and she seemed to relax even further, if that was possible. Her body sank back against him and she sighed, her mind wandering to places unknown as sleep overtook her body. She seemed to know that she was sleeping and dreaming as the images began blurring through her mind once again, nothing scary this time. It was more like a vision than anything, and it was all about the man doctoring her hands at that very moment.

'The glass was hard to pick up and move with hurting hands, but she managed to do so anyway, laying it out on the ground slowly. There were a few large pieces of what looked to be salted filled and dried drift wood collected from the beach. She never saw any part of her body other than her bandaged hands as they worked with the materials gathered around the large portion of mirror. 'The hands laid out one big piece of wood and smeared something goopy and sticky over it, then reached out and grabbed the mirror. Once they were in line, she crawled up and sat on the glass, making sure that it stayed stuck down on the wood. After that she used a few vines to tie them together securely...and Saul's face became visible in the glass as she moved away. His friendly smile and kind eyes...this was his present. Her way of showing her gratitude to him...'

Tawny's eyes snapped open and she jumped a little bit, looking up at Saul with wide eyes and a smile. Leaning upwards, she nuzzled his chin and then stood slowly, her muscles cramping from the position they'd been sitting in for so long. "T-thank you, Saul...brother."
