The children were driving her nuts. Two months had passed and their curiosities and whining and general annoyances hadn't faded. Now she realized why she'd avoided them back home — they were driving her up the wall. Leaving Piccolo Village without them had been a blessing. Mars could deal, they were his kids too.
Flipping through the pages of some hard-covered book or another, she found herself wandering without destination, pink eyes reading the words on time-worn pages. Books were a thing that always gave her peace, but something her children did not feel the same about. Paz preferred to chew on the grass, watching animals and poking at flowers while her brother...well, Krystalle couldn't be sure what it was that Amon did with his time. Neither were old enough to really do much. She guessed that it was better that way — there was less to worry about, even though they drove her up the wall.
The waterfall distracted her just as she started to read sentences of passion, lust and debauchery. Floppy ears, unable to really show a sense of emotion, twitched and wiggled as her eyes found the source of the crashing sounds — dropping off of the rocks, the water left a misty spray she had no desire to get closer to, and so she changed her path. Following the river northwards, back into her pages that offered a release from the real world, she tried to think more clearly. Her senses dulled by the water nearby, she didn't realize another was in the area until the last moment. Pink eyes lifted from the pages to find the shape of the dark young man who was peering so diligently into the depths of...something.
Curiosity taking over her, she inched closer to the pools and the watchful blue eyes until she was able to look down into them with as much ease. "Anythin' int'restin', mi querido?"
