Though Shawchert had been vigilante in his duty he couldn’t be everywhere at once, and see everything all the time. He needed to hunt, and to work on his projects as well, so strangers could still slip through. Today he’d been hunting and he was about to make his way through Thornbury back to his home in the treetops. That was when he smelled something... strange yet familiar, and it didn’t belong. Shawchert raced through the forest, his large legs moving his bulky body as quickly as they could when he came upon the bookstore and a pup. Shawchert stopped in mid step, he was about to growl and tell the stranger to go before he noticed the familiarity in the coloring and body shape....no..... could it be? Shawchert couldn’t remember which girl this was, not for his life Then he heard the familiar call of her mother. Orin.... was she back? What was she doing inside pack lands? She was still welcome here though, he could never say the woman was trespassing, especially with his children in tow. Shawchert cleared his throat as he bent to his knees, that way he wouldn’t be so intimidating.
“Hello there, who might you be?”
The man asked in a calm, soothing voice, letting the pup know that she wasn’t doing anything wrong and that he wasn’t going to hurt her. He would never hurt her. He could feel the buzz from his side, a sort of excitement as Demetrius was suddenly absolutely interested, but Shawchert knew the boy had not revealed himself. Shawchert’s heart ached to have the whole family living and together again. He put his hand on the leather guard that had been a present to him by Argul. It was the piece that kept him and Demetrius together. Every time Shawchert had tried to bury it the boy pleaded with him, telling him he didn’t want to be alone anymore. Shawchert never had the heart to bury it.
