Melee should have realized... the scent of Inferni was on the pup, surely her presence wasn't going to be welcomed with open arms. Still, her fur bristled defensively and her hackles rose in protective spikes. Why would one so young already have such words to say to someone who came forward with good intentions? The time that she had met an Inferni canine before - Sa'adat - the other female had been friendly enough. Yet here was a puppy who met all of the stereotypes she had been told about the coyote clan. "I'm not stinky, definitely not stinkier than your dead bird or Mr. Squishy or whatever you call him." she huffed, insulted by the insinuation that she smelled bad. Even though she knew it wasn't true, it was just a bias from the pup. It still made her want to go bathe or perhaps roll around in some nice smelling herbs. No matter what she rolled around in, though, she doubted it would change the opinion of the little Inferni girl.

The whelp had the ill advised idea of literally standing up to the chocolate-colored Luperci. In Optime form, she was significantly larger than the coyote youth. Though Melee was not truly a threat to the smaller female - she wouldn't hurt anyone if she could help it - the pack wolf still bared her teeth. It was a gesture of defensiveness more than aggression, her tail lashing behind her in agitation. "You're a rude little thing. Your mother should teach you better manners." she remarked, scoffing openly without knowing that Symera's mother was dead. If she had known, perhaps she would have been more sensitive... but she was put off by the behavior of the Inferni child and not inclined to let it go quickly. Her temper ran hot sometimes, and this was one such time.
