Because he was still much a child, it was not unusual that Tony was wide awake and about at this time of night. While many of the elders slept peacefully in their dens, the manor, or elsewhere, the young Iuvenis was trailing away from the windmill and making his way to the westernmost edge of the pack’s territory. His lupus form granted him faster travel, and it wasn’t long before the windmill was left far behind and the river drew nearer.

It was most likely lucky timing and coincidence that he had happened to come across the invading AniWayans. Surely if they would have came any other night Tony would have also been awake, but they would not have found him standing in their way if they had made their unlawful breach of borders the prior night, when he had spent his time under the stars at Riuione Beach.

Though it was dark, the August sky was almost all but cloudless. The moon above was not nearly full, but offered illumination regardless. The mass of unknown wolves instantly sent off a red alert in the boy, as golden ochre eyes swept over their weapons and the look of determination in their eyes. Though Tony wanted nothing more than to be a hero, he was smart enough to realize he would not be able to stop them alone. Instead, he turned his back on them and ran as fast as his feet would allow, calling out to his fellow pack members and alerting them all to the armed intruders. He did not stop when his message was finished, and instead continued to repeat his beacon like a blaring tornado siren.
