For a time he watched her at work, and for a time he dabbled in the painting process with fingers untrained in artistic ways; he had been one of few that did not paint or draw during his time in Juniper Peace, though that had not stopped his children from following in such artistic ways. While Razekiel worked best with a guitar and beads, Ocean Flower had been quite the painter, and it was under her guidance and instruction that the strange and warped little Micah found a way to express himself other than shaking and grumbling. One of the girls had dabbed a bit in writing, another one had a lovely singing voice — but it was so long ago now that he didn't remember which was which. Surely he would catch up with Sage on that soon enough, when she came to visit.
When he wasn't looking, the girl crafted something out of teeth and caught his dazed attention only when she leaned close to slide it over his lanky ears and dreadlocks, and with a delicate sound it settled comfortably amidst the onyx and tan fur of his throat and collarbone. Smiling, he collected the odd jewelry between his fingers and glanced over the array of colors and shapes, awed. "Such talent," he said, a shine in his eye and a glint in his smile. "Such secrets you hide, my friend. A thousand creative intellects behind such few words. Thank you, man."
He paused a moment, then reached with his free hand into the satchel he kept at his side. After fishing a moment, he retrieved what appeared to be a pointed bone, whittled into a makeshift dagger of sorts. Razekiel handled it less like a weapon and more like a treasure, as he had obviously shaped it himself. He dipped fingers into a reddish dye and painted a peace sign on its white surface — which, conveniently enough, dripped and ran like blood — and presented it to her. "Here, my flower," he said gently. "Peace and love, man, peace and love... and protection for yourself when it is unreachable, yeah?" A gift for a gift. Equivalent exchange.
