Sage is smokindeganj? Assumed this. XD PM me if I got dis wrong. Also rambling. :\

Myrika didn't much mind walking, but she began to wish she had ridden Eira about halfway up the mountain. Her legs were strong from controlling the horses and strong in general, with her long stride to aide her, but the climb was tiring nevertheless. She made no attempt to hide this; at one point on the trek, she had pulled off to the side to pay a visit to a nearby stream, taking a few moments to drink. Running to catch back up hadn't been so fun, but the cool mountain water had been well worth that price.

Now, they stood, gawking over the mountain ridge and to the lands beyond. Myrika looked over them critically. She had been tasked with something else along this venture, a notion she planned to keep entirely to herself. Talitha, the woman who had accepted her and part of the leadership, had tasked her to keep watch on this trip to foreign lands.

She had to prove her worth to this family. That was fine -- she would have expected some harder, darker task, but if this was all that would be expected of her -- to keep watch on the third of the leadership, and take careful stock of this foreign pack's resources -- then that was quite the relief. She did not think they had any intent to rapine this Ichika no Ho-en pack, anyway -- they would not have entrusted such a task to lowly Myrika if they intended such brutal ends for their northerly neighbor. Neither did it make sense to Myri for them to start any trouble with this mountainous pack.

Part of her wondered, however. This Sage River was also her relative, and also part of the leadership team. Why was she, a brand new recruit and distant relation, keeping watch on a leader? Even Valkyrie shared a surname with Talitha and Ezekiel both, and this simply confused Myri further. As far as Myrika was concerned, all of them were about the same degree as fifth or sixth cousins from her, regardless of their actual relationship. She could not make sense of the mess this family seemed to be or where she fit in, exactly -- no one she'd spoken to thus far remembered Rachias, and Myrika could not piece her place in these Lykoi. Inferni, however, was a different story -- she had met a few of the coyotes that were not, apparently, of her blood relation, and they were just fine.

Mmm, she murmured, rolling her shoulder in a shrug that seemed as uncertain as she felt. She had seen this side of the mountain before, once -- it was where she and her father had camped. True enough, further west along these coasts were rougher beaches, but these lands did seem in better condition. She was nervous about meeting this other unknown relative, the man who was not a part of Inferni and instead lived in these mountains. Sage's father, and something to Myrika. She wondered if he looked anything like Sage; the tan coyote seemed to have an ethereal quality to her, though Myri was not certain if that was Sage herself or the smoke that seemed as much a part of her as her hands or feet.

Looks nice enough, she said after a long pause, turquoise eyes searching for the border of these lands. Inferni's were lined with skulls; would this pack decorate their perimeter with bouquets of flowers and signs of welcome? Myrika's gaze turned toward their other companion, the pretty little thing with golden-tawny tones, beautifully coyote ears, and a petite muzzle, searching for her response. Myrika would have expected herself to be the least excited about this venture, considering her special task, but she wasn't so certain.
