Bambi didn't go traveling without her feline companion often. She was the translator of her movements.. And ensured that they didn't get taken the wrong way. The dog looked to her side, studying Nana as the overly lively cat continued to ramble about the good ol' days.. The days were she was free to just sun bathe all day, passed out on her back and allowing the sun to warm her tummy. As one that knew the feisty kitten well, she wasn't just speaking on them.. She was complaining about all the work Bambi now 'forced' her into. The female was tempted to add in that she didn't even ask her to come.. In fact, she tried to sneak off without her. But, alas, the cat's ears picked up on the sound of Bambi's paws touching down on the ground as she advanced forward. Before the Aussie had time to pick up her speed, the cat was at her side, accusing her of trying to desert her for good.

"You've never been to a beach before.. Have you?" The dog nodded, confirming her words. She was more interested now, starting to wonder about what it was. When she first set off her plan was to just look around- But when a strong gust of wind whipped by and casually teased her nose with the smell of fish and salt, she just had to know where it was coming from. She never had the pleasure of trying fish.. For the slave camp was far inwards. "Maybe it was to make sure none of us took off towards the water." Few had been willing to try that. Mostly because once they jumped into a lake, a master would just be chosen to wait around until the canine got tired, or drowned. "There is lots of water." The dog got excited. How she did love learning to swim when she was a pup.. "But you can't drink it. And you probably shouldn't go that deep, either. There are monsters in the water." Bambi stopped walking for a moment, tilting her head at the cat and planting an obvious look of confusion on her face. There was no such thing as monsters.. Right? "No. Everything has a soul. Monsters, too. They only seem bad." While her thoughts tried to soothe her, Nana continued on with her talk of beastly things. "No, really. If you go deep enough you'll feel them start to circle around you.. Then, suddenly, they will grab a hold of your paw and drag you under!" The cat swung her paw at the air, causing the young girl to jump. Shaking off the animal's words, she rolled her eyes. "Nana has a tendency to exaggerate.."

Bambi was confused, naturally, when the grass began to disappear, being replaced with something that seemed like.. Dry mud. "What's the word Nana would use..? Dirt." But, this wasn't like dirt. It was lightly coloured, and it seemed to cling to her fur more then regular soil would. She stared at the odd dirt for a moment, then leaning down and licking it. The dog's jaw dropped, and she began to gag. It was simply disgusting! She began licking at her leg, ridding of a bit of sand with each lap. The dog looked around, searching for Nana to make sure she wasn't laughing. "Why didn't she tell me!" She thought, a bit angry with her companion. Bambi searched the area with her eyes, confused, "Nana..?"

Little did the dog know, the one she called Nana was long gone by now.. She had her eyes stuck on a more.. delicious thing. More tasty then the smell of salt that was in the air. There was a wolf not to far from her location, feasting on a fish. The cat lurked in some nearby grass, her probably scent less noticeable due to the smell of salt dancing in the air. Without thinking much more, the cat lunched at the wolf's heel, aiming to sink her teeth into it. She ran off towards the direction of Bambi, suddenly seeing the flaw in her plan. Wolf, big. Nana, not so big. But even if she didn't end up chasing off the creature.. At least she would have still had some fun, right? If she didn't die, that is..
