Word Count → 500+ :: i dunno how you want to respond to her mini breakdown. but Vesper can just run off if you want. Big Grin

Bambi had stopped admiring the dog for long enough to listen to what she was saying. Naturally, she didn't reply. But she nodded occasionally, acknowledging that she understood what she was saying. One thing specifically caught her attention when the coywolf spoke.. Something that forced her into blurting out in surprise. "You.. Bit her.. Heel?" If she had been a bigger fan of foul language, she probably would have added a 'what the fuck' in there. But instead, she just gave a face of disbelief.

Right on queue, the cat strutted out from underneath her. "What do you ever mean dear? I was just hungry.." The dog would have almost laughed if she hadn't been so angry. She glared at her, letting a quiet growl escape from her maw. In her mind, Nana had willingly put herself in dangers way. "You do realize you are old, fat, and blind, right? You can't run from age forever." What she had said wasn't all that mean.. Nana knew the one thing she hated was when she put herself in harms way. But she did it anyways, then ran back to her from protection. She made her growl at someone who probably didn't deserve it.. And even put herself in the way openly, almost causing a fight!

The cat sneered, rolling her eyes. It was obvious that she was brushing off her concern. The dog didn't realize it now, but her companion was only trying to ready her for the harsh world that she would have to deal with alone. But with the mentioning of her age, she grew annoyed. She walked away, turning her head for a moment to spitefully hiss, "Bite your tongue, dear. Before one of them bite it for you."

The wolfess across from her probably didn't realize what the words meant. It had been a remark to make her remember her silence.. The silence that had been forced by beating after beating. Her mother had taught her how do keep quiet, but it didn't really set in until she had countless cuts for speaking out of turn. Usually it was because she was trying to stand up for another slave- Telling them that they were going to die, that they couldn't take anymore whippings handle it anymore. When the wolf died, which it usually did, the masters grew angrier with her. They accused her of killing the slave, putting some kind of wicked curse to make them die from the beatings that they thought the slaves should be able to 'handle'. Bambi let out a long whine, eyes trained on the cat as she continued walking. She expected her to turn around.. To take it back. But the feline kept on, ignoring her cries. Trembling started up.. Signifying her renewed fear for her life. "They're coming.. They're going to hurt me again. Please, Nana.. Don't let them." She knew Nana couldn't read her thoughts. And she now knew she wouldn't turn around, even if she could. The dog took a few steps back, looking around and letting out another pain filled whine before starting to cry.
