Dixie slid her hand against the man’s and shook it firmly before letting go and dropping her arm back down to her side. She hadn’t missed the little flash of male pride in his eyes when she’d offered him a ride, and knew that he was probably uncomfortable with asking for help. Whenever Wayne got injured or didn’t know how to do something he got so grumpy…more than usual, because he just hated asking for help. The girl just chalked it down to being the typical male attitude towards looking weak and shrugged it off. The fact that Loviere nodded and accepted her invitation to ride said a lot about him and gave him a large piece of respect in her mind.
The girl smiled and shook her head at his words, waving one little hand in the direction of the ‘coon and foal. He’s fine, and the colt needs some attention. A little playmate is good for him right now. Fern snorted as she watched her foal playing with the fluffy looking rat, tossing her head and prancing her huge hooves about in excitement. Bark whickered softly and trotted over to his mother, ducking his head under her belly and latching onto his food supply. Wayne dropped the reins and hopped down from the wagon, plastering on a friendly face to appease Dixie for his earlier behavior. Approaching the two, he nodded to Loviere and gave him a small smile. ”Guess I’ll make some room in the back then, nice ta meet ya.” With another small nod, he turned and went to the back of the wagon, leaning in and shifting items around until there was more than enough room for the male and his pet to ride.
C’mon, Loviere…let’s get you on up, yeah? She grinned and led him around to the back of the wagon as well, leaning against the wood. There were a few skins laid out on the wood to make it more comfortable, almost like a bed. Dixie leaned over and grabbed one of the unused saddle bags, digging in it and pulling out a handful of dried meat. Got some snacks, too, if you’d like a bit to eat.
