Light green eyes followed the little raccoon as he ran through the grass until Loviere called for him in low speech. Her jaws parted in a smile when the creature came to a halt and turned to look at the male before bounding over and leaping up onto his back. She winced a bit when the ‘coon grabbed his hair and tugged to hold on, but it didn’t seem to bother him at all. Smiling still, Dixie turned and pulled herself up onto Duke’s back, getting comfortable on the saddle. The stud let out a deep sigh and tossed his head as Bark, the colt, nipped his flank. The mare pulling the wagon whickered softly, calling for her baby, and he went to play near her instead. Ok, Wayne…is everythin’ comfortable Loviere? You can move the stuff back there if you want, just don’t toss it out. Her voice was soft and happy, letting her friend know that it was okay to have Fern start moving again.

Loviere was very nice and reminded her of her father kind of, though her Papa was a lot bigger and whiter. They were both kind and looked happy enough, though she was sure that this man harbored some kind of sadness in his heart. His eyes were deep and it was easy to tell that he had the ability to love and care for other, Octavian was clear proof. Dixie shook her head and grinned at the gray man, shrugging her little shoulders. You ain’t askin’ too much, hun. We are headed on towards the beach…there is a big ol’ bay aroun’ here somewhere, and our beach is on the other side. All we know is to stay on the coast and head on up North. She dropped the reins onto Duke’s neck and just let him walk by himself, trusting that he wouldn’t take off or leave the side of the wagon.
