ooc: So sorry this took so long :[ Dunno what happened to me.

At her back resided the Nomads, traveling the traditional route around their expansive territory, if one could call it that. The land was never truly their own, but they knew of it better than most packs that named the mountains, the valleys, even along the riverbanks their home. Such a cultured, proud family. It was difficult to imagine why one would renounce their place within it to take to the open road; the unknown to the front with steps toward an obscure destination. Should any inquire, the lady would have been hard-pressed to respond. It was a feeling she would try to convey, but beyond that it was impossible to invoke the emotions she felt with words. Perhaps if one were to share her thoughts...

But the topic was much too deep to ponder and for the time being, the female did not want to brood as she ventured through the unknown. She wanted to take this strange, unfamiliar land with a light foot and a smile. None would know it was upon her lips but her and the beckoning dawn. Its piercing light broke through the spindly trees flickering with a sporadic radiance that stung the eyes but held one's gaze in wonder just the same. Amber beheld the dawn with elation for the day's birth; a beautiful sign that experiences yet to be had lied beyond...

A creature in gallant stride came across the threshold of sparse tree to a vacant enclosure. Brimmed with rock, laden with rotting twigs and husks of timber; where the drifting leaves of the surrounding spires came to gather and decay. Gradually the female came to a halt, her sharp Secui nose poised skyward as she scented the air. Openings like this attracted all sorts, she had learned. The Nomads often found these secluded places as refuges for a night or two, long enough to replenish their resources and allow their limbs to rest a spell. Perhaps a traveler like herself had laid temporary claim to this place... X'yrin back tracked to the borders of the enclosure, her nose now open for the scent of claim. Save for the excretions of vermin, she found nothing. But more interesting than remnants of field mice was the peculiar scent wafting into her nostrils. More pleasant than dung, but its unfamiliarity roused her withers in alarm. A predator? Her ears fell back instinctively, lips curling prematurely in a snarl. What was it that set her on edge?

Frantic eyes darted about her surrounds, seeking anything that would pose a challenge or threat. But the light of the dawn was still weak, casting only a sparse light to the clearing. But a lengthening shadow caught her wary eye and whipped her head toward its origin. An impressive stone nestled just at the base of the mountains, glaring down upon the earth with a sullen facade. A creature upon four legs stood on it, obviously as ease with no concern for the female below. Was this the cause of the strange scent? It was rather fresh and lively. Unless another lurked within their midst, what stood at a distance before her had to be its source. A swift inhale and sudden release, the female announced herself as a traveler, seeking the acknowledgement of the other so that they may know of each other and pass in peace.
