HIDE YOUR INNOCENCE BEFORE THEY SEE RIGHT THROUGH
The girl seemed pleased to be able to make use of the fire, darting out of the room into the direction of the kitchen. Jackson nodded as she left, cerulean gaze watching as she retreated. He wondered what she could be doing, but she was quick to return and show off her handiwork. He watched in silence as she set up the birds for cooking. And then, as she said, it was time to sit back and wait. “My favorite part,” he said with a grin. Ah, there was that good old lazy boy Jackson had developed into in recent weeks. Can’t keep that part of him locked away for long, no sir.

He watched the birds hang there over the blaze for a moment, one hand idly tapping a nonsense beat on his knee. The girl spoke up again to introduce herself, prompting Jackson to return his gaze to the dark-furred girl. She said her name was Caprica, but the name didn’t ring any bells. Caprica, Caprica, Caprica. Where had he seen her? With Naniko, maybe? That would make sense. The young man still did his best to childishly avoid the woman whenever he could, so if this girl spent time with her it wouldn’t be a stretch to say that Jackson didn’t know her. “Jackson. Good to meet ya.” Cerulean eyes studied her features for a moment, settling on her own leafy gaze. “Guess you had some luck hunting today, huh?” he said, motioning toward the slowly roasting birds.

YOU MUSTN'T DISAPPOINT THEM
