It had stung deeply at the warrior woman's pride when no one had come to tell her about the planned attempt to rescue prisoners from the clutches of the AniWayans. She knew Anu to be one of the captives and that was about all she knew, other than what Jasper had told her of the guardians. And It was all the reason Anann had needed when Anatoliy had come home one evening asking to use Rem for the mission. She had agreed, though she had also told the Russian that it was not her permission that he would need and that he would need to take the matter up with the stallion himself and there was no way she was letting them both enter enemy territory without her. There was no she was simply going to stay home and worry, that was hardly the type of woman she was.

Without word from Vigilante or Haven, Anann had gathered with the rest of them. Her dual swords strapped to her back and new obsidian dagger with a bone handle was strapped to her thigh. The only adornments that seemed out of place on the woman were the bracers worn around her wrists and ankles to cover the ugly marks of thin fur and bare flesh. She greet them all with a silent nod. If they had expected her to stay behind they had been wrong and a direct order from Vigilante was exactly what it would take to make her stay behind.

It was the moment she had been waiting for as they gathered on the outskirts of the AniWayan lands, ever since Jasper had brought her word of the war and Anu's situation. She gave her ready in silent acknowledgment. Rem too, seemed eager and Anann had little doubt that Rem had already been to these lands to investigate and learn the terrain. Anann would follow Rem and Anatoliy to watch their back and give them a clear escape when the time came.
