He heard the horse outside in the rain. Even though he was feeling groggy and tired, the Sadira managed to get to the window and see the body of a horse outlined by the lights in the manor windows. Furrowing his brows and narrowing his eyes, Silvano thought he recognized the horse. Wasn't it one of the Utinas? But there was no rider and the horse seemed to be skittish. Slowly, he placed his book on the table and blew out the candle as he raced out the door, letting it slam against the wall as he ran. For whatever reason, the horse was outside the manor and without its rider. And that never boded well.

Silvano ignored everyone else as he ran out the door with nothing but his bone dagger. It was secured tight into his belt. Peering into the rain, the Sadira saw the horse prancing anxiously, making all sorts of noises. The rain was pouring and the grass seemed all sorts of slick. He stepped out into the rain, feeling it soak into his hair and into the one garment he deigned to wear. He approached the horse with an air of concern as he recognized it as the horse Liliana owned. "What's wrong?" he called out clearly, wondering if the horse knew what he had said to her.

Meanwhile, back at the windmill, Sunki stared at the rain as it fell against the panes of glass. She was watching the kids with her brother. Liliana had taken off to be on her own, a strange move on her part. Liliana had been nothing but attentive to them since they had arrived. Something was happening between the woman and her mate. But Sunki did not ask; it was not her place to pry. Instead, she watched the rain pour, waiting for the woman to come back. It had been so much to handle, and the small little family had been something of a joy to the pale woman. But it was a night like this that made it seem a lie.
