Niro should have known, after all the woman had been through and all, but it didn't occur to him that she might have thought she was in any danger... up until the point she hit him square in his family jewels. His laughter ceased as he knelt down, biting his lip, trying despirately to keep himself from fainting or crying out. The grey man's eyes were watering as he looked up at Orin, who seemed to notice who it was. Niro rose a hand as he breathed deeply.
Jiva was shocked, he'd just seen someone his his dad and yet there had been no reprieve. He had never hit his mother, but she never hit him either. He never expected his father to just sit there right after getting hit like that.
“How could you do that, that wasn't very nice!”
The pup said angrily, apparently fuming at the woman. Niro put his hand on the boy's shoulder, giving himself another breath before speaking.
“Jiva, sometimes people have to protect themselves. She did what was in her best interest son even if she she didn't know... She did just say she was sorry.”
The man rose stiffly to face his sister, clenching his fists from the pain, but he did have a smile on his face. He was exceedingly happy for a man who just got hit in between the legs, in fact he was more than just happy, he was relieved. She was able to take care of herself without actually needing him or anyone.
“I'm glad to see you learned a few moves. How have you been sister? I didn't know you'd come back. What brings you here?”
The man's voice sounded a little high, but as the time started to pass so did the pain and he started feeling a little more comfortable standing. Jiva wasn't at all convinced He sat on his haunches with a pouting look on his face as though the woman had interrupted something special... in fact she had, but he wouldn't keep that on his shoulders for long. He was a nice kid, so he'd warm up again when he calmed down himself.
