Anu's escape had indeed been troubling, and Maska had been in a tiz about it since discovery--not to mention Foxglove's disappearance. Wematin had ideas of who could've done the deed--Armis was slow in the head, but not so slow that he could not place a name to a face--but he had had no orders to right the wrong or to follow the superstitions of rumors. No, it was his job to lead the party into Crimson Dreams, as he had before, and as he would hopefully never have to do again--not because he was tired of it, but because infiltrating the territory was tedious and had cost them a life before. Still, he would do his job; Maska willed it, so he obeyed.

At his side were two of the 'throwaways', as he liked to call them--Lanna and Aamund. They were like sheep--following and doing as they were told without question--and that was just how they liked it and needed. There was no need to question orders, so long as they came from those in charge. As before, they were going under the cover of night to retrieve their bartering chip, but this time, Wematin would not discriminate targets; any who got in his way risked injury or death; all things in Crimson Dreams were fair game to him; failure was not an option. On a war horse this time, instead of in a boat, the only sounds from Wematin were the growls and grunts of signals and the pounding of his horse's hooves. He spread out his hand as a signal for 'disperse', and would let the AniWayan raiders do as they pleased from there. Pillage, raze, plunder--as he had said, all was fair game.
