The beach was nice as ever. A soft breeze was blowing and the sound of the waves crashing together had the two canines relaxed and comfortable. They were ready to have a lazy day and just do nothing. Maybe some training for Fern and the colt, and Dixie was working on more baskets, but overall they had nothing to do.

Wayne had vaulted up onto Fern’s back, sitting high up in the air and training her to recognize leg commands. The mare was so gentle and sound that she took to the training in no time, turning and speeding up with just the lightest of touches after a short amount of time. Dixie had put the small halter on Bark and tied him to Duke so they’d stay out of the training. That little colt was something else, always jumping around and making all kinds of noise. While entertaining to a couple of bored Luperci, he did get annoying after a while.

Dixie had just finished her sixth basket and stacked it with the others when they heard the sharp squeal and yelling coming from a ways away. Duke’s head lifted quickly and he whinnied in reply, stomping his hooves in excitement. Fern was more calm about it but still curious. Dixie untied the colt from Duke and hopped up onto him bareback, grabbing some rope and an extra halter. If there was a wild horse out there chasing some poor canine, they’d be sure to catch it and send the other on their way.

Both canines yipped and leaned into their horses, grinning as they both took off on the same lead. The sound of Fern’s hooves drowned out any sounds made by Duke or the colt chasing after them. It didn’t take long for them to come into view of the three Luperci and the beautiful dark horse that seemed to be trained, as he was standing with the canines without any apparent fear or suspicion. The big dark man looked familiar, and as they drew closer, slowing the horses to a gentle lope, a grin pulled Dixie’s mouth partially open.

”Well look at that! If it ain’t Mr. Jazz…how ya doin’ friend? And who is this gorgeous boy…?” Her head turned to the dark horse and she slipped off of Duke, letting the smaller stud walk off and nibble on some grass. The tiny white female approached the horse slowly, completely oblivious to the other Luperci. Wayne huffed and slid off of Fern, rolling his eyes at Dixie’s complete disregard for those like herself when horses were around. The man turned to Anann, Jazper and Rurik, smiling and shrugging at them.
