There's a reckoning still to be reckoned

Haha, yes indeed! That makes my character Lucia, Ehno's daughter, Robin's aunt, then. Maybe one day when I'm able to bring her back in, we'll have to have a thread with them. ;D wc:572

Family was something he would always stand for and protect, something that had been the cause of plenty of trouble for the male in the past. For years, he had believed it a simple thing to always stand by the side of his family, but then he had the misfortune of his family turning against each other. He had needed to be here for his sisters and their children, but then Naniko and he had children of their own. Splitting his time between Crimson Dreams and Phoenix Valley had been a trying time for him. He wanted to please everyone, and wound up losing trust from both sides. As far as Naniko and Savina had been concerned, he could not spend time with one without disappointing the other. He supposed that at this moment he was grateful that his children did not dwell in Crimson Dreams with him. They had faced their own crisises, but at least they did not have to face this war.

Soran seemed to believe that family was just as important as he did, something that pleased the male greatly. She expressed that she did not wish this hardship on her daughters, did not want them to lose their home as she had. “They will not have to face that,” he said, a solemn promise. Soran and her daughters were a part of Crimson Dreams, and that made them as good as family. There might not have been much the Italian male could have done on his own, but he knew the entire pack would rally to protect its own. The Dreamers would not stand these transgressions for much longer.

The sable woman seemed surprised to learn that Gotham had been taken into AniWaya’s clutches as well. He nodded solemnly, amber gaze fixing on her jade eyes as he explained the situation. “Yes… He’d gone missing some time ago. Apparently he went off on a one-man rescue mission.” The Marino shook his head, a grimace marring his features as he thought about it. That nephew of his was brave, that much was clear. Would that he had been successful… “Needless to say, his plan had not succeeded.” They would get him back, though. He and Cambria both would be safely returned to their home if it was the last thing Ehno did. Yes, thankfully Soran’s time spying with her great granddaughter had not gone much worse than it had. More hostages were the last thing they needed right now.

She seemed to find as much amusement in the story of his arrival as he had. Si, it seems like it was one of fate’s kinder moments. Somehow all of us wayward Marino’s were meant to make our way here.” He laughed, a tired smile remaining on his features. As to her question, “Ah, yes, that’s about the gist of it. Scrambling out of that cave to see the ship already on the horizon was certainly a shock.” She shared a tidbit about her old leaders, Russian pirates who apparently had a fondness for the drink as well. The mental image of them garnered a chuckle from the male. “It sounds like they would have gotten along well with my sailor friends.” From time to time Ehno would wonder what had become of those Spaniards after all this time. They were a rowdy and fun-loving bunch who seemed married to the sea. Even now they were likely still sailing.
