She might not have a pup to protect this time around, but it was her family and her pack she was helping to protect. She didn't like the idea of splitting up from Soran, but Ehno was almost family, seeing as how his sister was her son's mate. The laughter made her hackles stand up, her scarred eyes watching. This was vastly different from the attack on Syemv, they were the attackers this time. She had heard enough to know her pack and family were on the right side of it all. She tightened her grip on the dagger, time slowing. She nodded at his words, her eyes meeting his briefly.
The eruption of sound was almost deafening to the former leader, and a growl rose in her throat. She saw Ehno spring away, and then a whirling dervish was coming at her. She parried the sword with her dagger, her anger and fear giving her strength. She felt her mind go blank as she eased her body into the fluid motions she had practiced so long ago. The parry was followed by a spin back, pulling her out of reach of the sword woman. Her ears were pinned against her skull as she tried to keep her eyes on Ehno, watching him, realizing he would be attempting to subdue the archer. She would need to try and keep the sword woman off of him, then. Where the rest of the group was, she was uncertain.
The scent of blood rose in the air, hot and tangy, as an arrow glanced off her collarbone. Her lips curled back and she danced further away from the archer. It was a deep cut, but a cursory glance didn't show muscle tissue. She feinted towards the swordwoman, then danced back again, mimicking the steps she'd been taught by Erik long ago.
