All Welcome. Takes place during the day in Thornbury. Erzulie is in Lupus, as she is a puppy.

The pup was padding beneath a tree that framed the edge of Thornbury when something dropped from the branches and pegged her square on the rump. The girl yelped in surprise and pain and leaped forward, her fur standing on end as she whipped around to face her assailant, but no one was there. An eyebrow cocked and she tiled her head, her nose twitching as it worked to trace the scent of her attacker. A few steps forward to inspect and she saw no paw prints either.

“Oh ha ha. Reaaal funny,” she said to no one as she rolled her eyes and turned to be on her way, when another fruit fell from a rival branch and just barely missed her front right shoulder. When it hit the ground it broke open, gooey, seedy insides leaking out slowly. She lowered her muzzle to sniff at the fruit, then wrinkled her nose. It didn't smell too appetizing.

Thunk! “Awwrrr!!” Erzulie yelped as another something hit its mark right on her head. The first time was an accident, the second time a near miss, the third time right on her head! That was it, this tree was out to get her. She growled a low, puppy growl at the tree despite her tucked tail. Backing away slowly the managed to make it away from the tree without further incident. The tan puppy escaped down the safe and open roads of Thornbury, giving any of the foliage there a wide birth. Once she was a block away from the evil tree she turned around to ponder it. Her eyes cut through the village and bore into the vision of the tree on the outskirts.

How did it do that? It couldn't have hit her three times purely by coincidence, could it? She glanced one direction, and then another, searching for her friend that no one else seemed to know, but he wasn't there to play another trick on her. She sighed. She knew this was his machination, but there was some sort of lesson here for her to learn without his help.

She sighed, “Legba, now what? Whadda'ya want me t' know about da trees now?” But there was no response to her exasperated question.
