The reddish coyote girl shivered as she crossed the thick folliage that surrounded the ruins, scarlet eyes scruiting the forest in search of her sister's residence. The winter had already started to make itself present on these cold lands, and the mexican couldn'be be less prepared for such a harsh weather, used as she was to the warmth of the southern lands. Albeit her body had responded to the change of weather by growing a small layer of thick, shaggy fur under her pelt, the cold was still felt by her, specially in the area where she had been marked by Eris. The wound was almost healed, but it still stung.

So, earlier that day, she had requested Miqui's help to clean some pelts that she had gotten from her recent kills. He had accepted, albeit reluctantly, and in the end he had left a pile of soft, clean pelts ready for her to knit them together and take them to Tlantli's place, where she had decided to spend the harshest of the winter. So, as she walked past several houses, one of them caught her eye. It was a well-known structure, a place she knew her queen rested upon, taking care of the youth of the pack.

Looking at her cargo, Xochime considered just passing by and head straight to the place that promised warmth and comodity (or at least she hoped so), but she could not avoid thinking about how busy must Eris be, the extra task of preparing for the upcoming winter added to the pile of work. So, hugging the pelts close to her, she kneeled in the entrance and left a perfectly folded pelt on it, so the ebony woman could see it easily. For a minute or so she remained there, frozen, until she could not stand it any longer. Just keep walking. Remember, warmth, a cozy bed, warmth. The last word repeated itself in her mind like a mantra, as if its only thought could make the colg go away. Light feet rose her body off the ground, and, sheltering herself with the remaining pelts, she slid between the trees, eager to curl over one of those newly made blankets.
