Some warmth for these harsh times

Should she just drop the pelts and then go hunting before making herself confortable at home? or should she wait for the sun to warm things up a little bit? A glimpse in the sky's direction told her that the preciated sunlight would not appear anytime soon. So hunt would have to wait, even if she starved until the next day.

Maybe she was too focused on her chore to notice, or maybe she had noticed it but had dismissed it, but she found herself starting at the sudden yelp emitted by some unknown canine behind her. The thing is, she dropped the pelts and had to bend to pick them up, not turning towards the other femme until she made sure that they were safely held against her chest. "A-a-aye w-was just deli-deliverver-ing s-some things t-to Q-queen Eris." She stuttered, unable to sto the chatter that her teeth. She had never heard the strange accent of the woman before. It was harsh, hushed, contrasting with her own dry way of speaking. She stared into the stranger's white-blue eyes, finding something aking to sympathy disguised with the color of ice. She felt more relaxed at the woman's lack of hostility towards her, but she was still wary about whether she would act on the fact that she was wearing a slave ring. But she didn't, so she stepped forward to reaffirm that fact. "A-aye am no s-sleiv." As she spoke, she rose the pelts and hid her nose behind them, partly to hide the golden ring, but the movement also hid her nose from the cutting cold that surrounded her, and she found herself breathing into the material to warm it up. Why hadn't she resumed her path already?
