While he was not the sort who knew the subtleties of social interactions, Ezekiel could hardly overlook the obvious interactions between them. They had met before. Secrets were something he did not think much of, for Inferni did not seek to publicize the lives of their members. He had kept Halo’s attack on his throne silent, and carried this with him whenever they crossed. She had been silent since; those new pups likely were keeping her busy. This was a good sign, though Ezekiel sorely hoped that she wouldn’t raise them against him.

The woman’s eyes unsettled him, though this was not her fault. Blue eyes had always had such an effect on him. Something about them seemed…unnatural, he supposed. Briefly, he thought of Elijah, and briefly, he stiffened. There was no way that the ghostly deer would come here, not when it still chased his half-sister through whatever shadows she lurked in. How long had it been? He didn’t know. Long enough that he had been able to sleep soundly, at least for the time.

She used his title and recognizing her desire to speak with him as a leader, the de le Poer looked to his burly cousin. “Excuse us, Helotes.” The darker male left with a nod, and Ezekiel took the time to draw and light up a cloven cigarette. He inhaled smoke, held his breath for a moment, and exhaled into the wind. “Call me Ezekiel. You healing up alright?” While there was little true concern in his voice, he was glad that Enkiel had once again proven his skill.
