The water which supports a boat can also sink it

Ayasha went to the meeting, herding her two siblings with her. They all had had a tough time the last few weeks, with their mother leaving and before that, their brother dying. It must have been especially hard on Alaster to have his twin gone. The two of them were a bit difficult for a few days but now, mostly, listened to her. She was careful to explain to them the importance of this meeting and the need to be quiet.

Dichali was on her shoulder and was a comforting presence in her chaotic life. He gave her the closest thing a bird could to a smile and helped watch over her siblings. She was pretty sure that Nootau had talked to him about watching over them but she wasn’t sure. She watched and listened with interest to what Vigilante was saying.

So Maska was leaving but another councilwoman had come. Hopefully this one was less traditional and conservative. That was what Maska’s problems were. But it was a little early to tell about this woman. At not debating this, she gave a slight smile. Not many people would debate it. But she did have a question. ”Will everything else return to the way they were before, or as much as they can?” She knew that with many of the masters dead or gone, and other issues, things would not be able to go back to the way things were before but hopefully a sense of normality would return to AniWaya.
